Jacqueline M. Williams-Reade is a Professor in the Department of Counseling and Family Sciences at Loma Linda University. Her work focuses on medical family therapy, palliative care, maternal mental health, and qualitative research methodologies. She holds a PhD in Medical Family Therapy from East Carolina University (2011) and an MS in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seattle Pacific University (2005).
Her research interests span adult and pediatric illness management, grief and loss interventions, and professional development challenges faced by women in academia. Notable contributions include the Self of the Therapist in Medical Settings (2020) and the Biopsychosocial-Spiritual Resilience Interview (2024), which explore therapist identity formation and patient well-being strategies.
Williams-Reade is an AAMFT Approved Supervisor and active member of professional organizations such as the Collaborative Family Healthcare Association and the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. She has presented at major conferences including the AAMFT Systemic Family Therapy Conference and the National Council on Family Relations Annual Conference.
