Tammy Fisher

Dr. Tammy Fisher is an Associate Professor of Music at UW-La Crosse, directing the Screaming Eagles Marching Band and Percussion Studies. She teaches courses in conducting, music education, and percussion ensembles. As principal timpanist of La Crosse Symphony Orchestra since 2001, she performs with jazz bands including Grumpy Old Men and 7 Rivers Jazz.

Research interests: Marching band pedagogy, percussion education, and ensemble leadership. Her work emphasizes practical teaching methodologies for student musicians.

Awards: 2023 Eagle Teaching Excellence Award recognizing outstanding teaching contributions. Student mentorship includes preparing educators through field experiences and student teacher supervision.
