Analysis of her 2015-2019 publications reveals consistent focus on community-driven economic development, with recurring themes of racial and gender equity in entrepreneurship, innovative funding mechanisms, and the role of physical spaces (e.g., makerspaces) in fostering innovation ecosystems. Her scholarship prioritizes actionable frameworks over purely theoretical contributions.
Her professional recognition includes:
- Baltimore's Top 40 under 40 award
Through The Cube, Cowork and TEDCO initiatives, Dr. Lucas has cultivated national entrepreneur networks that connect founders of color with funding opportunities and support services.
