Tamara Sheldon is an Associate Professor of Economics at the Darla Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina, and a Moore Research Fellow. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from UC San Diego (2015) and a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from MIT (2008). Her research examines environmental/energy economics and public policy, focusing on electric vehicle adoption and climate change impacts.

Sheldon's work analyzes electric vehicle subsidy effectiveness, disaster-induced migration, and consumer behavior in transportation markets. Recent publications evaluate barriers to electric ride-hailing adoption and natural disaster impacts on housing ownership. She directs NSF-funded projects on coastal resilience and micro-targeting environmental policies.
Awards include the McKinsey Finance Teacher of the Year (2021) and Gulf Research Program grants. She teaches Environmental Economics and serves on editorial boards for Journal of Environmental Economics and Management.
