Cem Öztürk (pronounced "Gem") is a tenured Associate Professor of Marketing and Moore Distinguished Fellow at the Darla Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina. Previously, he served as an Assistant Professor at Georgia Institute of Technology’s Scheller College of Business.

His research focuses on empirical quantitative marketing, with two primary streams: marketing & public policy and channels & competition. He investigates issues like environmental sustainability (e.g., electric vehicle adoption), social sustainability (racial and gender disparities in auto financing), competitive spillovers, pricing, and digital marketing. Methodologically, he employs causal inference, structural econometric models, spatial econometrics, and optimization algorithms.
Recent publications span environmental sustainability, consumer behavior, and competitive strategy, with featured work in Marketing Science, Management Science, and Production and Operations Management. His 2024 Marketing Science paper on gender/racial disparities in auto financing received INFORMS press coverage and Chicago Booth publicity.
