Dr. Syka Iqbal is an Assistant Professor in Psychology at the University of Bradford, affiliated with the Rapid Research and Appraisal Lab at UCL. Her research focuses on mental health equity, cultural adaptations of interventions, and rapid qualitative methods.
Her academic journey includes roles at Birkbeck University and Manchester Metropolitan University. Current projects include the NIHR Mental Health Leaders Award (INSPIRE), exploring public acceptance of administrative health data, and the DAISI project on digital animation in healthcare.
Research interests span cultural health behaviors, pandemic mental wellbeing, and intergenerational health disparities. Notable studies include evaluations of Ramadan fasting impacts, food expenditure-mental health links, and anaesthesia practices' climate impact.
