معرفی
Syed Mustafa is a Lecturer and researcher in Hydrogeology at the Hydrology and Quantitative Water Management group at Wageningen University & Research. He holds a PhD in Hydrogeology (Vrije Universiteit Brussel) and a Master’s in Water Resources Engineering from KU Leuven and VUB. His research focuses on groundwater modeling, uncertainty analysis, and sustainable water management. He has held postdoctoral roles at the University of Oulu, University of Aberdeen, and VUB, and part-time guest professorships at VUB.
Research Projects:
- Principal Investigator (PI) for EU Horizon FARMWISE and UK-based GCRF-funded projects on groundwater security in Cox’s Bazar.
- Involved in WATERAGRI and Connect4 Water Resilience projects.
Research Interests: Numerical modeling, groundwater-surface water interactions, climate resilience, and integrated hydrological systems. He developed the Integrated Bayesian Multi-model Uncertainty Estimation Framework (IBMUEF) to quantify uncertainties in groundwater models.
Advising & Grants:
- Supervising three PhD projects: Gorongosa National Park hydrogeology, managed aquifer recharge in Bangladesh, and drought impacts in Flanders.
- Grants include EU H2020 and UKRI funding.
Labs/Teams: Active in transboundary water governance initiatives, particularly in the Limpopo River Basin, focusing on collaborative modeling for hydrological extremes.
