Emily Baker

Emily Baker is an Assistant Professor in the Geosciences Department at Hamilton College, appointed in 2023. Her research integrates hydrogeology and hydrology to investigate climate change and human impacts on water resources through field studies across three continents.

She examines how glacial retreat in the Peruvian Andes, rice irrigation in Northern Italy, and agricultural practices in Wisconsin affect aquifer recharge, stream temperatures, and water quality. Her work bridges hydrological processes with ecological and human consequences, emphasizing vulnerable water systems under climate stress.
