Sven Kube is an Assistant Professor of Contemporary History at Coastal Carolina University’s College of Humanities. His academic work bridges cultural studies, business history, and Cold War-era transatlantic exchanges, focusing on the intersection of popular culture, technology, and political economy. He teaches courses on Popular Culture, Music and Film, Cold War Era, Communism and Capitalism, and Transnational History.

Research Interests:
Dr. Kube’s research explores processes of cultural dissemination, the entertainment industries, and the commodification of sensory experiences through sonic revolutions in music recording. His work emphasizes transatlantic relations, particularly how socialist consumers and capitalist performers interacted in the global record market during the Cold War.

Grants and Affiliations: He joined Coastal Carolina University after completing a National Endowment for the Humanities research fellowship at the Hagley Center for the History of Business, Technology, and Society.
