Sven A. Beiker is a Lecturer in Management at Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB) and Managing Director of Silicon Valley Mobility, focusing on automotive electrification, automation, connectivity, and shared mobility. He served as Executive Director of the Center for Automotive Research at Stanford (CARS) from 2008 to 2015, co-founded with Stanford professors. Previously, he held roles at BMW (1995–2008) in technology scouting, innovation management, and powertrain development, and later as an Expert Consultant at McKinsey & Company.
Education: PhD and MS in Mechanical Engineering from TU Braunschweig, Germany (1995–1999). Research interests encompass automotive technology, business models, and strategic management of industry disruptions. Awards include the Arch T. Colwell Merit Award (2006).
Teaching: Leads the course "Strategic Thinking in Action - In Business and Beyond" (Automotive Industry Disruption) at GSB. Professional affiliations include the Precourt Institute for Energy.
