Svati Shah

Svati Shah, MD, MHS, is a Professor at the Department of Medicine in Duke University's School of Medicine. She serves as the Associate Dean for Translational Research, Director of the Duke Precision Genomics Collaboratory, Vice-Chief of Translational Research, and Director of Duke-Kannapolis. Additionally, she co-directs Translational Research at the Duke Molecular Physiology Institute and contributes to the Duke Clinical Research Institute.

Her research focuses on genetic and metabolic pathways in cardiometabolic diseases, utilizing genomic, metabolomic, and proteomic techniques to uncover disease mechanisms and biomarkers. She previously identified novel genetic variants linked to premature heart disease.
