Suzanne Willey is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Monash University. She holds a PhD in Public Health (2020) from Monash University, focusing on perinatal mental health screening for refugee women. Her research emphasizes midwifery practices, public health, and health equity, particularly for migrant and refugee populations. She has led and contributed to multiple projects addressing maternal and child health disparities, including improving access to care for Aboriginal women and evaluating refugee health programs.
Willey’s work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being. Her projects include projects like ‘Improving access and equity in maternity care for Aboriginal women’ (2021–2023) and ‘Evaluation of The Victorian Refugee Health Program’ (2020). She has supervised Masters students and contributed to interprofessional education initiatives.
Her research outputs span peer-reviewed articles on topics such as perinatal mental health screening for refugee women, systemic racism in healthcare, and midwifery education.
