Suzanne Moore

Suzanne Moore is an alumna of Monmouth University, graduating with a Bachelor's in History in 2007 and a Master's in History in 2009. She currently serves as an adjunct professor in History at Monmouth University and Brookdale Community College, and as a seasonal Park Ranger at Sandy Hook Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area. Her academic focus includes public history, archaeology, and historical preservation, reflected in her thesis on Joseph Bonaparte and her fieldwork at historic sites like the Bonaparte Point Breeze estate in Bordentown, New Jersey. She has also contributed to projects at Fort Monmouth, transcribing historical letters from World War I. Moore’s career path blends education and public outreach, emphasizing experiential learning and community engagement. She teaches courses that bridge historical scholarship with practical applications, such as archaeology field schools and interpretive programs at Sandy Hook. Her research interests include American history, military history, and the intersection of history with modern education and conservation. Outside academia, Moore is deeply involved in historical interpretation at Sandy Hook, leading tours and educational programs.
