Dr. Sushri Puhan is a Lecturer in Social Work at Royal Holloway, University of London since January 2024. Previously, she served as Research Lead for a children's charity and researcher at the University of Sussex. Her interdisciplinary work focuses on child protection systems, adoption policies, and family practices in India and the UK, employing qualitative and co-creative methodologies.

Her research examines child welfare policy evolution, adoptive family dynamics, and intersectional discrimination through narrative approaches. Current projects investigate socio-legal aspects of adoption in transitional societies and community-based protection mechanisms.
Publications consistently address tensions between policy frameworks and lived experiences in child welfare systems, particularly analyzing power structures and identity formation in cross-cultural contexts.
