Ravinder Barn is Professor of Social Policy and Head of Department at the Department of Law and Criminology, Royal Holloway, University of London. She co-directs the Gender, Families and Children Research Cluster and serves as Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences. Her work bridges social policy, sociology, social work, and criminology with policy-relevant research.

Her research focuses on racial/ethnic and gender inequalities, particularly in child welfare, migrant family dynamics, and gender-based violence. Current projects address transracial adoption, early childhood education in Palestine, gender policing in India, and environmental impacts on child well-being in South Asia.
