Susanne Vollberg

Prof. Dr. Susanne Vollberg is an Associate Professor of Media and Communication Studies at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (MLU). Currently serving as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy II and Chair of the Doctoral Committee, her roles emphasize institutional leadership alongside academic research. She holds a habilitation in Media and Communication Studies (2010) and completed her doctorate in the DFG Collaborative Research Center at the University of Siegen. Her career includes research roles at Leipzig University and leadership in DFG-funded projects on GDR television history.

In research, Prof. Vollberg focuses on science communication (especially Public Science and Foresight), sustainability communication, health communication, media literacy, and media history with specializations in GDR/BRD television programming and children’s media worlds.
