Veronika Albrecht-Birkner

Prof. Dr. Veronika Albrecht-Birkner holds the Chair of Church and Theological History at the University of Siegen's Faculty I (Protestant Theology). Her work focuses on modern church history, Pietism, GDR Protestantism, revival movements, and popular theology. Born in 1963, she studied theology at the Leipzig Church University and earned her doctorate from the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg in 1998. Her academic career includes roles at the Interdisciplinary Center for Pietism Research in Halle and the Saxon Academy of Sciences. She habilitated in 2018 at Leipzig's Theological Faculty.
