Susanna Evans, MD, FAAFP, is an Associate Professor and Hamot Endowed Chair in the Department of Family, Community & Preventive Medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine. She previously served as Interim Chair and has held roles including Associate Vice Chair for Clinical Services and Program Director for the Montgomery Family Practice Residency program. Her clinical expertise spans women's health, preventive medicine, and care for underserved populations.
Education: MD from Penn State University College of Medicine (1995), BA in English/Professional Writing from Elizabethtown College (1990). Residency at University of California-Davis (1998), followed by a Rural Family Medicine/Obstetrics Fellowship at Tacoma Family Medicine (1999).
Research focuses on preventive medicine, physician wellness, and rural health disparities. She has presented widely on topics such as dietary recommendations, patient-centered care, and stress management. Notable awards include the 2021 'Top Doctor' designation by Philadelphia magazine.
Leadership roles include Medical Director of Drexel Medicine University City and Drexel Student Health Center. She contributes to academic governance via the Drexel University Physicians Primary Care Task Force and chairs the Ambulatory Family Medicine Chronic Care Course.
