Susana Loza is a Professor at Hampshire College, specializing in Critical Race, Gender, and Media Studies. She teaches interdisciplinary courses at the intersection of cultural studies, critical race theory, and media analysis.
- B.A. in political science and psychology from Stanford University
- Ph.D. in comparative ethnic studies from the University of California at Berkeley
Her research focuses on the social construction of race and gender in speculative media, cultural appropriation, gender performativity in digital spaces, and the colonial dimensions of gaming. She examines how popular culture reinforces or challenges systemic power structures.
