Susan Yorke is a Lecturer in Law and Thomas C. Grey Fellow at Stanford Law School, Stanford University. Her research focuses on appellate decision-making procedures, judicial interpretation of precedent, and the impact of legal methodologies on institutional integrity. She has contributed to prominent legal journals such as the Stanford Law Review, Washington Law Review, and Vermont Law Review.
Before joining Stanford, Yorke co-taught the Ninth Circuit Practicum at Berkeley Law and practiced as an appellate litigator, representing cases in Oregon and California courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She held roles as Court Counsel to the Supreme Court of Palau and clerked for Ninth Circuit Judges Susan P. Graber and Edward Leavy.
Her publications explore themes ranging from legal canons in appellate rulings to jury nullification and the historical intersections of law and medicine. Yorke’s work bridges theoretical legal scholarship with practical insights from her litigation experience.
