Susan M. Higgins is an Associate Professor at the University of New Haven, affiliated with the School of Health Sciences and the Rehabilitation Sciences and Wellness department. She serves as the Director of the Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program.

- B.S. (Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy), Tufts University
Research Interests include mental health occupational therapy, fieldwork education, the Cognitive Disabilities Model, and Sensory Modulation in Mental Health. She also explores innovative educational practices and contributes to global initiatives like animal-assisted interventions in Armenia through Oknooshoon.
