Robin Newman

Robin Newman, OTD, OTR, CLT, FAOTA, is a Clinical Associate Professor and Program Director of Behavior & Health in the Department of Occupational Therapy at Boston University's Sargent College. She holds a BA in History of Science (University of Wisconsin, 1995), an MA in Occupational Therapy (NYU, 2000), and a post-professional OTD (Boston University, 2011), and is currently pursuing an MPH at BU School of Public Health (expected 2026).

Her research focuses on cancer rehabilitation, particularly occupational performance challenges for breast cancer and head-neck cancer survivors. Key interests include cancer-related cognitive impairment, self-management interventions, and functional rehabilitation strategies. She co-edited the textbook Cancer and Occupational Therapy: Enabling Performance and Participation Across the Lifespan and leads studies on occupation-focused survivorship care models.

Professor Newman's recent publications emphasize evidence-based rehabilitation frameworks, with themes spanning cognitive self-management programs, employment challenges in advanced cancer, and geriatric oncology interventions. Her work consistently integrates occupational therapy principles with multidisciplinary survivorship care.
