معرفی
Susan Kaech is a Professor in the Department of Immunobiology at Yale University School of Medicine. She holds appointments in Global Health Studies and Molecular Virology. Her research focuses on T cell differentiation, memory T cell formation, and tumor immunology. She has held prestigious awards including the HHMI Early Career Scientist and PECASE. Dr. Kaech earned her B.S. in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Washington and her Ph.D. in Developmental Biology from Stanford University.
Education:
- B.S., Cellular and Molecular Biology, University of Washington (1993)
- Ph.D., Developmental Biology, Stanford University (1998)
Research Interests:
Dr. Kaech’s lab investigates how T cells transition to memory phenotypes and survive long-term. Key areas include metabolic regulation of T cell longevity, tissue-specific memory T cell adaptation, and tumor microenvironment interactions. Recent work explores lipid storage in memory T cells and nutrient competition between tumors and immune cells.
Awards:
- Howard Hughes Medical Institute Early Career Scientist (2009–2015)
- Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (2007)
- Cancer Research Institute Investigator Award (2005–2009)
Labs/Teams:
Her lab, the Kaech Lab, is located at The Anlyan Center, Yale School of Medicine. Collaborators include Katerina Politi, Joseph Craft, and Marcus Bosenberg.
