معرفی
Susan Glasauer is an Associate Professor at the University of Guelph's Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences. Her research focuses on microbial interactions with metals in environmental systems, including bioremediation applications and Earth's geochemical evolution. She leads the Glasauer Lab (Lab 333) and holds an office in Alexander Hall (Room ALEX 321).
Education: B.Sc., M.Sc. from University of California, Berkeley; Ph.D. from Technical University of Munich.
Research interests span biogeochemistry, metals, microbiology, soil chemistry, and wetlands. Her work bridges microbial processes with global geochemical cycles, emphasizing practical bioremediation solutions and fundamental Earth science questions.
Publications highlight microbial-driven metal transformations, including iron and manganese mineralization. Recent work explores anaerobic respiration mechanisms and subsurface bacterial activity.
