Susan G. Cumings serves as Lecturer II in the Writing & Critical Inquiry Program at the University at Albany, State University of New York, a position she has held since 2013 after previously serving as Associate Professor of English and Women’s Studies at Georgia College & State University.

Her work extends to Canadian literature, British and U.S. multicultural fiction, and creative non-fiction as vehicles for critical theory and discursive activism, complemented by performance theory and auto-theoretical methodologies.
Her scholarly output includes book chapters in "Rethinking Women’s and Gender Studies Vol. II" (Routledge), "Emerging Aesthetic Imaginaries" (Rowman & Littlefield), and "The Image of Disability: Essays on Media Representations" (McFarland). She is featured in the prizewinning documentary "CRUTCH" about disabled dancer Bill Shannon, demonstrating her engagement with disability activism through media platforms.
