Susan Davies is the Story Senior Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School, Harvard University, where she teaches the course "Legislation and Regulation." Her academic role places her within the Department of Law in the prestigious Harvard Law School.
Her research and professional interests center on constitutional law, legislation, judicial confirmations, and public policy. With deep experience in U.S. legal institutions, her expertise informs both her teaching and practice. She has contributed to high-impact legal processes, particularly in Supreme Court nominations.
Susan Davies has held significant government roles, including Deputy White House Counsel to President Barack Obama, where she managed Supreme Court confirmations for Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan. Earlier, she served in the Clinton White House, the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, and the Department of Justice. She also clerked for Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy and for Judge Stephen Breyer before his elevation.
