Supurna Dasgupta is an Assistant Professor in the English Department at Santa Clara University's College of Arts and Sciences. Her research examines intersections of postcolonial literature, gender studies, and aesthetic innovation in South Asian contexts. She teaches courses on postcolonial theory, world literature, and South Asian cultural studies.
Dasgupta's scholarly work explores multilingualism in global anglophone literature and gender transformations during the global 1960s. As a translator working with Bengali and Hindi texts, she bridges literary traditions and contemporary theory. Prior to joining Santa Clara, she was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Chicago and taught English literature at Delhi University.
