Sungwon Chang

Sungwon Chang is a Senior Lecturer in Public Health at the University of Technology Sydney's School of Public Health, with over 20 years of experience in biostatistics, epidemiology, and health services research. She leads statistical design and analysis for palliative and chronic care projects at the IMPACCT research centre, focusing on breathlessness management and population health surveys across Australia, India, and South Africa. Her work has secured over $3M in grants, including funding from the NHMRC.

Her research integrates biostatistics with public health challenges, emphasizing palliative care, chronic conditions, and vulnerable populations. She employs rigorous methodologies in randomized trials, cohort studies, and cross-sectional surveys to address global health disparities.

Chang's publications demonstrate a strong focus on respiratory health, palliative interventions, and pandemic-related health impacts. Key themes include breathlessness epidemiology, caregiver burden, mobility assessment in aging populations, and innovative pharmacotherapies.
