Sulina Baek is a distinguished flutist and educator currently serving as a part-time Assistant Professor of Flute at Augustana College (since 2024) and as a guest lecturer at Wheaton College-Conservatory. A graduate of the University of Illinois, Mannes School of Music, and the University of Hartford, she has performed at prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall and the Metropolitan Museum of Art with orchestras such as the Norwalk Symphony and The Orchestra Now.
Her educational background includes:
- Bachelor of Music from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
- Master of Music from Mannes School of Music – The New School, New York
- Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Hartford – The Hartt School
Dr. Baek's research and artistic interests center on flute performance, orchestral and chamber music, and music pedagogy. Her doctoral dissertation, "Thirty Caprices, op. 107 for Solo Flute by Sigfrid Karg-Elert as Models for Flute Solo Repertoire and Orchestral Excerpts," explores the application of 20th-century flute works in both solo and orchestral contexts. She is dedicated to advancing flute instruction through historical and contemporary repertoire.

- Flute fellow in the Napa Valley Festival Orchestra
Dr. Baek maintains a private studio in Connecticut, mentoring students of all levels, and has served as an adjudicator for the Schubert Music Club of Fairfield County. Her performance career includes a recording on Naxos Records titled "Equinox" with the Foot in the Door Ensemble, featuring 21st-century orchestral and chamber works.
