Amanda Pond serves as Adjunct Faculty and Instructor of Flute at Millikin University's School of Music, teaching applied flute, flute choir, and flute methods through the Millikin Community Arts Academy. She concurrently holds a teaching position at the University of Illinois Springfield since Fall 2020, instructing applied flute and directing the UIS Flute Choir.
Her academic credentials include a Bachelor of Music and Master of Music in Flute Performance from the University of Illinois under Alexander Murray, supplemented by advanced studies at the University of Missouri at Kansas City where she received the Chancellor’s Scholarship and Graduate Woodwind Quintet Fellowship.
Pond's performance expertise spans classical orchestral repertoire, collaborative chamber music, historically informed Baroque practices, and contemporary flute techniques. Her research integrates performance pedagogy with historical performance practice, emphasizing cross-genre fluency from Baroque to modern compositions.

As an active performer, Pond holds principal flute positions with the Illinois Symphony Orchestra, Millikin-Decatur Symphony Orchestra, Champaign-Urbana Symphony Orchestra, and Danville Symphony Orchestra. Her chamber collaborations include regular performances with harpist Julia Jamieson, the Millikin University Faculty Quintet and Trio, and Illinois Symphony Orchestra outreach programs. She maintains a significant Baroque flute practice through engagements with Bach Society Houston, Concerto Urbano, and harpsichordist Charlotte Mattax, highlighted by solo appearances at the Five Cities Baroque Festival and Concerto Urbano's 25th anniversary concert.
