Jeffrey Khaner serves as Distinguished Artist-in-Residence in flute at Lynn University's Conservatory of Music, Professor of Flute at The Juilliard School (since 2004), and faculty member at the Curtis Institute of Music (since 1985). Previously, he held principal flute positions with the Philadelphia Orchestra (1990–present), Cleveland Orchestra (1982–1990), New York Mostly Mozart Festival, Atlantic Symphony, and Pittsburgh Symphony.

Khaner's artistic research centers on flute repertoire performance practice across orchestral, solo, and chamber settings, with significant emphasis on contemporary music. He has premiered numerous works including Ned Rorem's flute concerto (2003), regularly commissions new pieces, and publishes performance editions (e.g., Brahms sonatas) through Theodore Presser Company.
As an educator, he mentors graduate students at Juilliard and Curtis using intensive solo/orchestral repertoire training to prepare professional careers. His global teaching impact includes masterclasses across six continents and participation in festivals like Solti Orchestral Project, Pacific Music Festival, and Hamamatsu Festival in Japan.
Honors include selection by Sir Georg Solti as Principal Flute of the World Orchestra for Peace (1995), with subsequent tours commemorating WWII's end (2005). He is a founding member of the Syrinx Trio (debuting at Carnegie Hall in 2001) and a Yamaha performing artist/clinician.
