Sue Konzelmann is a Professor in Management at Birkbeck Business School, University of London. She serves as Director of the London Centre for Corporate Governance and Ethics, Co-Executive Editor of the Cambridge Journal of Economics, and a Research Associate at the Cambridge University Centre for Business Research. Her work integrates historical, economic, social, and political perspectives to analyze topics such as austerity, liberal capitalism, and corporate governance dynamics.
Her research explores how societal, economic, and political forces shape global financial markets and broader economic systems. She has contributed to comparative studies on corporate restructuring and industrial strategies, focusing on shareholder prioritization versus stakeholder interests. Additionally, she examines the spread of national capitalist models through multinational firms.
She holds a PhD in Economics (1991) and an MA in Economics (1987) from the University of Notre Dame, along with a Master in International Business Studies (1985) from the University of South Carolina and a BA in Economics (1982) from Trinity Washington University.
