Sue Dopson is the Deputy Dean for People and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), and Professor of Organisational Behaviour at the University of Oxford's Saïd Business School. She is also a Fellow of Green Templeton College. Her academic background includes a BSc in Sociology, an MSc in Sociology with a focus on medicine, an MA (Oxon), and a PhD examining the integration of general management in the NHS.
Her research focuses on leadership, innovation, and organisational change, with particular emphasis on healthcare systems, evidence-based management, and women's leadership. Key areas include clinical leadership, transformational change in public and private sectors, and the implementation of innovation. She has advised the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and serves as a Non-Executive Director of the Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust.
Professor Dopson’s teaching spans undergraduate, postgraduate, MBA, and EMBA programs, with a specialization in executive education. She chairs the coaching committee at Saïd Business School and is Academic Director of programs like the Oxford Strategic Leader Programme and the Diploma in Organisational Leadership. Her work on leadership development emphasizes psychological contracts, proactive career strategies, and addressing barriers for minorities in academia.
Her scientific contributions include studies on paradoxical leadership in sport, responsible innovation in healthcare, and the challenges faced by women in leadership roles. She advocates for inclusive and ethical leadership practices aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals.
