Sudabeh Kamanabrou

Prof. Dr. Sudabeh Kamanabrou serves as Professor and Chairholder at Bielefeld University's Institute for Labour and Social Protection within the Faculty of Law. She specializes in labor law education and research, directing the SPB 7 Work and Social Protection specialization program.

Her research focuses on labor law systems with particular expertise in individual labor relations, collective bargaining frameworks, European labor law integration, and works constitution principles. The specialization she leads prepares students for careers in labor courts (over 2,800 positions nationally), social courts, and specialist legal practices where over 11,000 labor law specialists and 1,700 social law specialists operate in Germany.

The recent publications reflect her authoritative contributions to labor law doctrine and practical contract drafting methodologies. Her teaching directly addresses the high practical relevance of labor and social protection law in both public sector institutions (judiciary, health/pension insurance) and private sector applications (corporate legal departments, HR divisions, trade unions).

Prof. Kamanabrou maintains active academic leadership through her chair's coordination of the Verein Sieben graduate network, facilitating ongoing professional connections among SPB 7 alumni.
