Prof. Nicolai Besgen is an Adjunct Professor of Labor Law at the Department of Economics, Alanus University of Arts and Society (since 2021). He also serves as a lecturer in Labor Law at Alanus University (since 2016) and the University of Heidelberg (since 2013). His career includes roles as a partner at MEYER-KÖRING law firm (2001–present) and a researcher at the Institute for Labor Law at University of Bonn (1993–1998). He holds a doctoral degree in Law (1997) and advanced studies in Law, Italian Philology, and German Literature.
Research focuses on specialized labor law domains: disability employment rights, digital labor regulations, healthcare sector employment, executive labor policies, and termination procedures. His publications include authoritative handbooks on labor law sub-topics such as hospital employment, internet-based work, and severance processes.
