Su Kyung (Irene) Kim is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Business Administration at the Asper School of Business, University of Manitoba. Previously, she taught at the Sauder School of Business, University of British Columbia, Vancouver. Her research focuses on improving employee well-being through understanding work stress, customer service interactions, and interpersonal workplace behaviors.
Dr. Kim’s research explores how customer mistreatment, emotional labor, and constructive/destructive behaviors affect employees. She designs interventions to mitigate stress and enhance well-being. Her work bridges organizational behavior and service management, with studies published in journals like Journal of Organizational Behavior and Harvard Business Review.
Teaching interests include organizational behavior, leadership, and human resources management. Her recent studies emphasize field experiments (e.g., taxi driver interventions), bibliometric reviews of service encounters, and cross-cultural healthcare analyses. These highlight workplace interventions and ethical decision-making in customer-centric contexts.
