Stéphanie Gaudet is a Full Professor in Sociological and Anthropological Studies at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Social Sciences. She serves as Director of the Center of Interdisciplinary Research on Citizenship and Minorities (CIRCEM). Her research focuses on social and political participation, citizenship, qualitative methodology, care ethics, and youth engagement. She holds a Ph.D. in Urban Studies (INRS, 2003), an M.A. in Philosophy (Université de Montréal, 1998), and a B.A. in Philosophy (Université Laval, 1995).
Key affiliations include editorial roles at journals like Recherches qualitatives and Sociologies, and leadership in the International Association of Francophone Sociologists. Her SSHRC-funded projects include studies on citizenship education and youth engagement pathways. Awards include the 2014 Faculty of Social Sciences Teaching Award and the 2018-19 University of Ottawa Knowledge Mobilization Award.
Research interests span relational sociology, life-course analysis, family dynamics, and gender equity in academia. Current supervisions involve five graduate students. She teaches advanced qualitative methods and sociological research seminars.
