Stuart Ivey, DA, is a Lecturer in Ensembles and Assistant Director of Bands at Baylor University. He oversees the Golden Wave Marching Band as Associate Director, directs the Courtside Players Pep Band, conducts the Concert Band, and teaches conducting courses. Prior to Baylor, he held teaching roles at Ball State University and Taylor University, where he served as Acting Director of the Pride of Mid-America Marching Band.

Dr. Ivey’s research focuses on wind band repertoire derived from shape-note melodies, rooted in his family’s tradition of Sacred Harp singing—a 19th-century practice still active today. He actively shares this heritage as an instructor at Camp Fasola, an annual summer camp dedicated to Sacred Harp music.
