He co-authored leading casebooks on Land Use and Trusts & Estates and edits the New York Real Estate Law Reporter, a monthly legal newsletter produced with Cardozo students. His scholarship critiques judicial doctrines like the Lucas takings precedent and explores empirical dimensions of property rights, such as implicit takings and decanting trusts' implications.
Professional milestones include clerking for Chief Judge Charles D. Breitel of the New York Court of Appeals and advising the American Law Institute on the Restatement (Third) of Property (Servitudes). Current teaching includes Conflict of Laws, Contract Drafting, and Real Estate law courses. His interdisciplinary work bridges legal theory, empirical analysis, and practical policy applications in real estate and wealth transmission systems.
