Stewart Powell is an Honorary Lecturer in the Computer Science Department at Swansea University's Faculty of Science and Engineering. He specializes in Education Technology (EdTech), focusing on enhancing teaching and learning through evolving technologies like AI. Previously, he served as Assistant Director of Technocamps, a national outreach program supporting schools across Wales in computer science education. His work emphasizes strategic leadership in EdTech development and curriculum innovation.
Research Interests: Stewart’s expertise includes formal methods in education, computational thinking, and STEM education. He collaborates on projects such as disease modeling visualizations for children and teacher training initiatives. His publications span topics from K-12 computing education to innovative pedagogical frameworks.
Program Leadership: As Program Co-ordinator for Technocamps, he manages national coordination, securing funding and ensuring program effectiveness. Recent work includes developing zombie-based disease modeling tools to engage students in STEM concepts.
