Stevie Johnson ("Dr. View") is an Assistant Professor of Creative Practice in Popular Music at The Ohio State University, combining scholarship with DJ/producer work. He holds a PhD in Higher Education Administration from the University of Oklahoma (2019), and is a 2023 Nasir Jones Hip Hop Fellow at Harvard University and 2023 Women’s and Gender Studies Center for Social Justice Activist-in-Residence at the University of Oklahoma.

His dissertation Curriculum of the Mind pioneered hip-hop-based academic writing, winning a landmark award in 2019. Current work blends artistic production with social justice education through multimedia platforms.
Awards highlight both scholarly and creative impact, including the first non-traditional dissertation recognized by ASHE and the Harvard fellowship supporting hip-hop innovation.
