Steven Parker serves as Assistant Professor of Instruction in Trombone and New Media at the University of Texas at San Antonio's College of Liberal and Fine Arts, concurrently coordinating Music Marketing initiatives. His practice integrates music performance, visual art, and curation across academic and public spheres.

Research Focus: Parker pioneers interdisciplinary projects including civic rituals for humans/animals/machines, listening sculptures derived from obsolete surveillance tools, and transportation symphonies for vehicle operators. His work interrogates sonic perception through trombone performance, new media installations, and public interventions that dissolve boundaries between performer and audience.
