Steven Owen Marx

Steven Owen Marx, M.D., is a Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, where he serves as Director of the Cardiovascular Fellowship Program at Columbia University Medical Center/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. He also directs the cardiology component of an NIH training grant for cardiology fellows and surgery residents.

Current work emphasizes macromolecular complex formation in BKCa and L-type calcium channels, linking molecular mechanisms to systemic functions like blood pressure regulation.

His recent publications highlight advances in adrenergic signaling, proximity proteomics, and genetically encoded tools for modulating ion channels. Articles span clinical trials (COAPT) and fundamental studies on calcium channel regulation.
