Steven Ko is an Associate Professor and Associate Director of Research and Industry Relations at the School of Computing Science, Simon Fraser University. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Illinois (2009), an MS in Computer Science and Engineering from Seoul National University (2002), and a BS in Math from Yonsei University (1999).
His research focuses on Systems and Software Engineering, while his teaching interests span Systems, Programming Languages, and Software Engineering. In 2025, he taught courses such as CMPT 415 (Special Research Projects), CMPT 495 (Software Systems Capstone), and CMPT 201 (Systems Programming).
