Steven Hunt is an Associate Professor in Classics Education at the University of Cambridge's Faculty of Education. He holds a BA from the University of London and PGCE from the University of London, with professional affiliations including editorship of The Journal of Classics Teaching and membership in the Classical Association Development Group.
His research focuses on inclusive pedagogies for classical languages, teacher training methodologies, and communicative approaches to Latin/Greek instruction. Current projects examine non-specialist Latin teachers and global classics education practices, culminating in the 2025 book Classics in Schools Worldwide.
Publications demonstrate consistent focus on accessibility in classics education, with recent work examining technology integration, policy impacts, and pandemic teaching adaptations. He mentors PGCE candidates but currently declines PhD supervision requests.
