Steven Connor is an Assistant Professor and Chair of the Canada Research Chair in Neurophysiology (Tier II) at York University's Department of Biology, Faculty of Science. His research focuses on synaptic function and plasticity in higher-order cognitive processes, particularly learning, memory, and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). His lab employs genetic, electrophysiological, molecular, and behavioral approaches to study synapses in brain circuits.
Current research projects include investigating mechanisms of forgetting via long-term potentiation (LTP) decay and exploring synapse organizers' roles in autism-related synaptic plasticity deficits. Connor's lab aims to develop neurotherapeutic strategies targeting molecular mechanisms underlying ASD. Recruitment is ongoing for trainees.
