Steve Joiner serves as the Dean of the College of Leadership and Public Service and Executive Director of the Institute for Conflict Management at Lipscomb University. He holds the academic rank of Professor of Conflict Management. Joiner has been at Lipscomb since 2008 and previously served as Dean at Lubbock Christian University and Lipscomb’s College of Bible and Hazelip School of Theology. He also held an adjunct faculty position at Southern Methodist University.
His expertise spans organizational conflict resolution, conflict systems design, and religious conflict negotiation. He actively consults and trains globally, addressing challenges in healthcare, education, religious institutions, and non-profit sectors across Brazil, Germany, Guatemala, Australia, Kenya, Canada, and South Korea. Over 250 organizations have engaged his services for organizational conflict resolution.
Joiner currently serves on the boards of Leadership Tennessee and Siloam Health, and previously served on the board of Biblijski Institut in Croatia. His work emphasizes practical applications of conflict management in diverse institutional contexts, combining academic rigor with real-world problem-solving.
