Steve Greenfield

Professor Steve Greenfield is a Professor at Westminster Law School, University of Westminster. He co-founded the Centre for Law, Society and Popular Culture with Guy Osborn, focusing on interdisciplinary research and teaching at the intersection of law and popular culture. He holds an LLB from Middlesex University, an M.Sc. (Econ) from LSE, a PhD from Westminster, and additional qualifications in psychology and education. His teaching includes Contract Law, Legal Skills, and Entertainment Law modules across undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Greenfield’s research spans law’s engagement with film, sports, music, and media, producing seminal works like Contract and Control in the Entertainment Industry (1998), Film and the Law (2001), and Regulating Football (2001). He co-edits the Entertainment and Sports Law Journal and a book series on law and popular culture. His current projects include youth sport regulation with South African collaborators and empirical studies on contract law pedagogy, funded by grants such as the Legal Education Research Network.
