Guy Osborn

Professor Guy Osborn is a Professor at Westminster Law School, University of Westminster, and formerly an adjunct Professor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). He holds a BA in Philosophy (University of Leeds), LLM (University of Leicester), and PhD (Manchester Metropolitan University), alongside a Diploma in Law and Bar qualification (Middle Temple, 1993). His research focuses on entertainment law, sports law, urban legal frameworks, Olympic governance, and contract theory. Notable projects include British Academy-funded studies on film censorship in Britain and India, HERA-funded research on festivals and public spaces, and analyses of Olympic laws and street culture.

He co-directs the Centre for Law, Society and Popular Culture, edits the Entertainment and Sports Law Journal, and leads the Routledge book series Studies in Law, Society and Popular Culture. Awards include being a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Teaching responsibilities include modules on entertainment law, law and sport, and dissertation supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He actively supervises PhD students, particularly in areas like contract theory, Olympic law, and urban legal dynamics. His recent publications explore ticket regulation, athlete activism at the Olympics, and the legal complexities of urban spaces.
