Dr. Stephen Husarik is a Full Professor of Humanities/Music History at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith (UAFS), where he has served for 25 years as Head Carillonneur of the Donald W. Reynolds Bell Tower and Carillon. He earned a Ph.D. in Music Literature from the University of Iowa (1983), postgraduate studies in Beethoven at Harvard University (1989), and Wagner-focused studies at Bayreuth, Germany, and New York University (both 1996). His career spans teaching over 12,000 students across institutions, with expertise in music history, piano performance, and interdisciplinary humanities.

Husarik's research focuses on Beethoven and Wagner studies, musical analysis, and interdisciplinary humanities. He is currently collaborating with the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde, Vienna, on a digital transcription of Archduke Rudolph’s "Musikalien Register Nr 9."
